Just watched the new episode of Brothers & Sisters on ABC, and it was very touching.
It hit a nerve with me, one that I'm sure it hurt with many people... that relationships need time, commitment, and most of all a desire and love for one another. From time to time we all take each other for granted, we start pointless fights, we get mad over things that don't matter; and its after these instances that matter most. This is when you know if you're relationship will work or fail.
What will you do?

Pasta, Pasta, Pasta
Lately I have been on some type of Pasta kick. It has been quite fun experimenting with new sauces, half of the time i'm shocked that they are edible but...
Here are some photo's of my masterpieces... I could go for one now!

Library, Library
For the past 5.5 years (and more so if you count high school) I have been doing my homework in my house and more often then not in my bedroom. I am continuously told that this is bad for me, and that I should go and do my school work at the library.
Yesterday I decided to try out this recommendation.
I decided I would go to my local library (4 blocks away) as I have been wanting to go anyways. When I arrived it was jam packed full, there was no where to sit :(. I walked through all 3 floors and couldn't find anything. After this disappointment I remembered why I do my homework at home. Occasionally I will use my school library (which has more available seating), but its back to the trusty old bedroom homework for me.

Contemplation
While still contemplating wither or not the new computer is worth keeping, I seem to have come up with compelling arguments on both sides of the spectrum (not helping my decision however).
In addition I need to keep the 'new' computer at minimum one week, so i suppose this gives me a good amount of time to test it out and see how I feel about it.
The new computer is so pretty, but it does have a few pit falls. The biggest of which is the fact that it gets hot and stays hot, the old computer rarely did this. However it is easier to use than anticipated (I still have alot to learn).
This week will be a test for me, and for PC's everywhere.

Guilty.Nervous.Scared.Excited
So today my new toy arrived, and as excited as I am, I can't help but feel guilty.
My Fujitsu served me well, she worked whenever I needed it. She for the most part behaved, and was an all around good product. After three and a half years of wedded bliss (and a scare of failure), I decided that it was time to upgrade.

Money, Money, Money
Out of fear that my 'old computer' might crash on me soon, i went out and purchased a new computer (which will arrive in 6 days).
I am very excited for the new computer, however I cannot help but worry about the amount of money I just spent on the new computer.

Livid
You give people an inch, and they take a mile.
Sounds like the story of my life lately. You give someone a chance, they take advantage, reoccur, reoccur, reoccur, reoccur x infinity!
People take and take and take, and then take some more.
They care about no one but themselves, and why is anything more to be expected?
You invite them into your live, you share with them both spiritual and physical, you share your things and all you want in return is a little respect and reciprocation... and then they just take take take some more.
When does it end?
Why do others continue to give them chance after chance after chance?
Why does no one else see it?

My infatuation with the clog has continued.
Yesterday I went out and bought a pair :), now I'm just trying to decide what I can wear these with...

Sukkah City
Sukkah City 2010 occurred in Union Square this past week.
It was a contest of design students creating an inhabitable space.
They all went to U.S. and built their structures.
Very Cool

The Cold
I have not been sick in 1-2 years.
I take over precautions to make sure I am not sick, however this year I decided I would try something different, FAIL!
Normally I would drink OJ every day, I'd take my Emergen-C (aka my vitamin's) 1-2 times per week, and anytime I would be near a sick person I would pop an Airborne.
Well, this year I didn't want to go out and purchase the Airborne, and man was that a bad idea.
I've been sick now for 4 days and counting.
After realizing that I was sick, I of course went out and bought everything that a sick person needs:
Ricola
Vicks
Airborne
Asprin
and of course some Candy
Once I began to implement all of these things, I started getting better. Now I can breath through my nose again!!!!!!! You don't realize how important this is until you can't do it.
Thank you to boyfriend, for cuddling, and helping me to feel better :) hugs are the best cure!
(also, Fail is my new word so you might be seeing it often)
Learning to live with Roommates
These past few months have been a learning experience, the captain and I moved into a 3 bedroom apartment and have 2 other roommates.
Going from our studio, where things were done the way we like them, to an apartment that is shared with other people has been challenging. As can be assumed, it is tough adapting to the way other people do things, adapting to their way of cleaning (or lack there of), realizing that things can not always be done in my time frame, and trying to get others to do what you think should be done is well... difficult.
When I sit and fester on it, I become frustrated.
I go back and forth between talking with them about their habits, cleaning up the mess myself, and just leaving things as is.
Do I bring it up and always be the 'mother,' the 'bitch,' the 'nag' or to not say anything and be 'cool'?
And why are we considered these things just because we want to be clean? we want things put back in their place? we want people to clean up after themselves?
Perhaps I'm overly anal, perhaps I'm just cleanly, I suppose this is just a matter of opinion and I prefer to call myself the latter. However you are welcome to disagree.
Overall I think I have great roommates, but as with anyone or anything at times it is challenging.

Missy Higgins
I discovered Missy Higgins probably 4 years ago now, from a young lady named Kimmy.
I'm just in a Missy Higgins kind of mood, however I'm not really in the mood to write right now, sorry readers!
But go to her website and enlighten yourselves, I promise you won't be disappointed... but if you are then you suck.

Thank you.
Thank you.
It is one little phrase that means so much; yet in these modern times I seem to hear the word less and less.
You hold the door open for someone, take an extra shift at work, clean up someone's mess, or just sit there and lend an ear when needed ... and you receive a blank stair or are completely ignored.
This one phrase, is so easy to say, it bring so much pleasure to the receiver of the comment and we have become to lazy to take the time and thank each other.
For those of us who do say 'Thank you' just about every time, it become irritating when others don't thank you back. Then comes the dilemma, do you stop helping? do you stop caring about others? do you stop saying thank you? Or do you just let it roll and continue?
On the plus side, you do have good karma!

www.ramonmaiden.com
st summer I spent 2 weeks at a hostel in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn.
During this time I met many people from around the world, one in particular was Ramon Maiden.
Ramon is an artist from Spain. He designs and sells t-shirts across the world.
After his stay at Loftstel (the Hostel) he returned home to his native Spain.
Loftstel left such an impression on him that he designed special T-shirts for all of us who spent time with him last summer.
This past Friday (September 10) we had a mini-hostel reunion.
Ramon was back in town and presented the BF and myself with these Loftstel shirts.
Below I am photographed in Ramon's custom designed shirt.
(I will have to post a photo of the back of the shirt soon).
If you are interested in seeing more of Ramon's work please go to www.ramonmaiden.com

Master Cleanse
My Italian friend mentioned yesterday that she was going to start the Master Cleanse tomorrow (Monday), and I decided to jump on the band wagon.
I've been wanting to do this for a good year or so now, and after she mentioned it I figured what better time then now.
The Master Cleanse (aka the lemonade diet) was designed to cleanse your body of all the toxins from unhealthy processed foods. It is a 4-30 day cleanse in which you drink a concoction of lemon, syrup, cayenne pepper, and water. You drink 6-12 cups of the juice depending how hungry you are, and you drink salt water each morning to 'flush' your system.
She has decided to do it for 7 days.
So these next 7 days will be interesting to say the least.
Last time I tried this diet I lasted 3.5 days, lets hope it goes better this time around.
Below are some websites I've found useful, if you're interested in the cleanse:
WebMD
MasterCleanse
Recipe:
- 2 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice.
- 2 tablespoons grade-B organic maple syrup.
- 1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
- 10 ounces filtered water.
**I have decided to perhaps start next week, TBA**
Funny Faces
This morning (while looking for a lemon photo) i stumbled upon this website with cute, yet funny hand drawn cartoons that I thought I should share with you.

Nicacelly
I stumbled upon Nicacelly a few years ago at the Sacramento 'Second Saturday' event.
Second Saturday was held the 2nd Saturday of every month, it was/is a local art show where artists open their studios for your viewing pleasure, they come to the streets, and they (used to) serve wine & h'orderves to their patrons.
(over time as SS grew they were no longer allowed to serve wine, and only a few places serve food anymore, as there are so many people who attend that it is not feasable)
One SS in the winter of 2007, the new MARRS Building opened in Sacramento between J St. & K St. on 20th St. On the left hand corner (J & 20th) there was a large open gallery space, that would eventually become Lounge on 20. This space was filled with local, young, emerging designers selling their merchandise.
While wondering around looking at clothing, I stumbled upon Nicacelly. I tried on one shirt (shirt below) and I was sold. It was so cute. When I purchased the shirt it came along with a CD from the designer (one of my favorite CD's also).
Since purchasing this shirt, I have researched the designer and realized that she has a great company and great ethics. Unfortunately for me Nicacelly clothing is too expensive, so I just have to hold onto my hoodie for as long as I can.

I just came upon this Architecture firm this morning.
While they are a larger firm, I like a good portion of their projects.
